Boyd Gaming experienced an unprecedented year for its yearly holiday charitable initiative in 2021.

The gaming corporation bestowed over $180,000 to philanthropic endeavors through its “Trees and Wreaths of Hope” festive contest.

More than 160 non-profit groups committed to diverse missions partook in Boyd’s recent Christmas charitable occasion. The associations, dispersed across the nation, adorned wreaths and holiday trees, which were showcased at 22 of the company’s locations.

Patrons were subsequently encouraged to select their preferred charities digitally and physically at participating venues, with over 10,000 ballots submitted across the country.

Participating locations encompassed Delta Downs Racetrack, Casino & Hotel in Louisiana, Valley Forge Casino Resort in Pennsylvania, and Main Street Station in the heart of Las Vegas.

Boyd publicized the 2021 competition as “an enjoyable, amicable, and socially distanced holiday wreath embellishment contest where all entrants obtain a contribution, and the leading three victors at each site receive more substantial contributions based on patron selections.”

The “Trees and Wreaths of Hope” campaign, currently in its 14th year, established multiple new benchmarks in 2021, encompassing the overall award sum, the quantity of participating locations, the quantity of non-profit groups, and the quantity of ballots submitted.

In contrast to 2020 (when Boyd surpassed its prior record), its award sum escalated by $35,000, the quantity of participating locations rose by four, and the quantity of participating non-profit groups expanded by 25.

From its inception in 2007, Boyd Gaming has contributed over $100 million to charitable organizations throughout the USA. A major player in the casino industry, the Las Vegas-headquartered Boyd Gaming Corporation manages 28 gaming establishments across 10 states.

While the firm, largely dependent on its brick-and-mortar venues, experienced significant setbacks due to the COVID-19 outbreak, it has demonstrated indications of a rebound in recent times. As an example, during the third quarter of 2021, the corporation’s earnings surged by 29%.
