A prominent player in the realm of sports wagering and internet casinos, Betsafe, has at last entered the Ontario market. Having secured approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), Betsafe can now provide its extensive selection of gaming options to Ontario residents.
Betsafe is a member of the Betsson Group, a leading force in the online gambling sector, renowned for its casino games, poker offerings, and comprehensive sportsbook.
With the Ontario license in hand, Betsafe has customized its platform specifically for the Ontario market. Ontario players can now access Betsafe’s offerings via the Strive Gaming platform, available on both mobile and desktop devices.
The online casino features a diverse array of games, from the excitement of slots to the timeless allure of table games and the engaging experience of live dealer games.
Sports fans will find ample entertainment with Betsafe’s sportsbook. It encompasses a wide spectrum of sports and betting markets and even provides the option to stream live matches directly on the platform.
“We have been eagerly awaiting this occasion,” remarked Pontus Lindwall, President and CEO of Betsson, upon receiving the license. “Ontario, with its strong and competitive online gaming market, represents a substantial opportunity for Betsson, and we are certain that our offerings will appeal to players.”
Betsson, the parent company, has also obtained a supplier license in Ontario. This enables them to power the sports betting operations of other gaming companies in the province, further solidifying their presence in this expanding market.
Ontario launched legal and regulated online gaming in April 2022, ushering in a new chapter for the industry in the province.
Betsson has been granted permission to conduct business in Ontario, adding to the already bustling market of more than 50 licensed operators in the region.
Although Ontario is presently categorized under Betsson’s “Other Regions,” a segment representing a minor fraction of the company’s total earnings, the Canadian province is gaining significance. In the final quarter of 2022 alone, the “Other Regions” category, primarily fueled by Ontario, yielded €4 million (USD 4.2 million) for Betsson.
