Mississippi’s sports betting industry achieved a new peak in October, with a staggering $83.5 million wagered.
Mississippi residents placed a record-breaking $83.5 million (£61.9 million/€73.6 million) on sports wagers in October, and the state’s revenue also reached its highest point since October 2019.
The state’s betting volume surged by 36.4% compared to $61.2 million in October of the previous year, and it also marked the highest ever recorded in Mississippi since the legalization of sports betting in August 2018, surpassing the prior record of $67.7 million set in January.
The commencement of the new NFL season resulted in football becoming the most favored sport among Mississippi bettors, with a total of $45.8 million wagered, generating $4.3 million in revenue.
